Setenil de las Bodegas Tour

Visit the Unique Town Under the Rock

Setenil de Las Bodegas, unique amongst Andalucía’s “Pueblo Blancos”, is a fascinating place to visit. A small town of approx. 3000 inhabitants it’s narrow and steep streets tumble down the sides of the valley and the houses appear to be on top of each other.

It’s defining and famous feature is of course its streets and cave houses set directly into the cliffs. Originally used as bodegas (hence the name Setenil de Las Bodegas,) many of these caves have a simple façade on the front and inside the bare rock is exposed.

Surrounded by a fertile plain, the town is also justly famous for its delicious local products especially Jamón and the local specialty – Payoyo Goats Cheese – as well of course as dozens of varieties of locally produced olive oil, honey and other traditional products.

Setenil da Las Bodegas is a special and unique place to visit and the perfect start to our Ronda Shore Excursion.
